Blending unique functions with nature, and supporting Indigenous cultural heritage, ‘The Orchids’ is a venue like no other.
Natural or decorated
The Orchids is magnificent simply with the beautiful bare timber and natural surrounding. But you can add your own touches and bush style with our very talented wedding planners & decorators, caterers and cake makers. You can even DIY to save costs; either way you can be assured of a beautiful, personalized event.
Up to 120 people
With an exclusive and idyllic atmosphere, The Orchids embodies connection to the natural world. To maintain this harmony the venue is capped at 120 people*.

A choice of options
Everyone has different requirements, so The Orchids can be hired to suit. A bar service can be included, or you might like to BYO. You might even want silver service - you just let us know and we can make it happen.
You may wish to hire the entire 5000 acre nature reserve for your exclusive use. Contact us for details.
An international airport close by
Only 80 minutes from Cairns International Airport, you travel up the Kuranda Range through the world's oldest rainforest and into the spectacular savannas of Northern Australia. You can also arrive by helicopter (contact us), with a landing pad right beside the venue.
Brides & families dressing room. 3 glamping bush villas available onsite
The venue has a dedicated, airconditioned ensuite dressing room and wedding party deck, complete with separate access and even its own fridge! If you want to stay onsite, book the Wild Nature Lodge glamping bush villas.
Car parking / helipad
Any vehicles can access The Orchids, and there is adequate parking for cars and coaches. There is a small section of gravel road, but this is well graded and hire cars are allowed. A marked helipad can be laid out too.
Accessibility for all
The Orchids has disabled access and full facilities throughout, including a wheelchair accessible bathroom.

The Orchids is an exceptional venue in rain or sunshine! Either outside with the lake reflecting the blue Australian sky, or on the deck against a backdrop of storms and the Hann Tableland National Park, The Orchids will not disappoint! The Orchids is only open from May to November, with the other months given over completely to wildlife. June to September are the most popular times.
